Description
Summary:Measurements of the differential and total cross sections for production of free electrons are reported for collisions of 66.7--350-keV/u C{sup +} ions with He. The experimental data are compared with theoretical calculations that include electron emission from both target and projectile using the classical-trajectory Monte Carlo method and the independent-electron approximation. Good agreement is observed between theory and experiment, and structures appearing in the electron spectra can be explained in terms of either, or both, target and projectile ionization.
