Description
Summary:An analysis has been carried out of the grain volume and shape of annealed twins and island grains. The method of serial sectioning was employed. It has been found, that the investigated alloy characterized by existence of two populations of the annealing twins: lamellae twins and edge twins. The present research has shown the log-normal distribution of the volume grains in recrystallized NiMn[sub 2] alloy. The volume of grains was found not to effect the specific surface of twin boundaries. This finding strongly supports the model based on grain boundary dissociations concept. A computer-aided design, Auto CAD, was used to 3-dimensional reconstruction of annealing twins shape.
