Summary:The problem is considered of small-angle reflection and transmision of charged particles in the case of grazing incidence of a broad beam upon the surface of a flat scatterer of finite thickness. Simple analytical expressions are obtained for the average energy loss of reflected and transmitted particles taking into account mutual correlation between scattering and transmission processes.
