Electron-capture decay of [sup 100]Tc and the double-[beta] decay of [sup 100]Mo

We have measured the electron-capture decay branch of [sup 100]Tc to be (1.8[plus minus]0.9)[times]10[sup [minus]3]%, from which we deduce log[ital ft]=4.45[sub [minus]0.30][sup +0.18]. This indicates that a two-step process connecting only the ground states of [sup 100]Mo-[sup 100]Tc-[sup 100]Ru ca...

Description
Summary:We have measured the electron-capture decay branch of [sup 100]Tc to be (1.8[plus minus]0.9)[times]10[sup [minus]3]%, from which we deduce log[ital ft]=4.45[sub [minus]0.30][sup +0.18]. This indicates that a two-step process connecting only the ground states of [sup 100]Mo-[sup 100]Tc-[sup 100]Ru can account for the measured 2[nu] double-[beta]-decay rate of [sup 100]Mo.
