Description
Summary:In this work we discuss the number of different bonding environments present in graphitic carbon nitride films, that can be resolved by X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy (XANES). The carbon and nitrogen features are related by comparing spectra with very distinct relative intensities of the different peaks. The effect on the bonding configuration of different N/C ratio in the films, substrate temperature during film growth and post-deposition annealing is also studied.
