Identification of a high-{kappa} isomer in neutron-rich {sup 185}Ta

At t{sub 1/2} > 1 ms, high-{Kappa} isomeric state feeding a strongly coupled rotational band has been identified following the deep inelastic reaction {sup 238}{sub 92}U + {sup 186}{sub 74}W at 1600 MeV. Examination of {gamma}-ray and X-ray data combined with a g-factor analysis derived from in-b...

Description
Summary:At t{sub 1/2} > 1 ms, high-{Kappa} isomeric state feeding a strongly coupled rotational band has been identified following the deep inelastic reaction {sup 238}{sub 92}U + {sup 186}{sub 74}W at 1600 MeV. Examination of {gamma}-ray and X-ray data combined with a g-factor analysis derived from in-band branching ratios suggests the assignment of the new states to the neutron-rich nucleus {sup 185}{sub 73}Ta.
