Summary: | A nickel pentacyanonitrosylferrate (NiPCNF) film modified/Al electrode prepared by a simple and rapid electroless dipping procedure was used for the mediated oxidation of sulfite. The anodic peak current observed in both cyclic voltammetry and constant potential amperometry under hydrodynamic conditions was linearly dependent on the sulfite concentration. The detection limit of the ampeorometric method was 3×10
−6
M, low enough for the trace sulfite determination. The analysis with NiPCNF film/Al electrode was selective for sulfite from some concomitant compounds. The proposed hydrodynamic amperometric method was used for the determination of sulfite in sulfite treated sugar, boiler water, sulfur dioxide treated raisins, and dried apricots. |
