Summary: | A new and original AC/DC three-phase converter suitable to be applied in DC catenary's power systems for electric traction is presented. The overall control strategy for providing constant DC voltage, pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal generation, and simulation results are also presented. The proposed converter topology uses twelve power switches (three legs) and an inductor-capacitor DC-bus. This converter is able to simulate infinite DC busbar performance, providing constant, load independent, output voltage, giving the advantages of a good power factor (PF), a low total harmonic distortion (THD), and smaller filters. |
