Description
Summary:This paper distinguishes the following automation levels of the designing process: (a) fragmentary automation, (b) system-conceived automation of the designing process based on purposeful organization of various algorithmized components, (c) system-conceived automation that, in addition, makes use of various information systems. Motives for changes of some traditional designing paradigms are suggested, including the evaluation and solutions of negative impacts. The new designing paradigms, especially the systems approach, should include the production and evaluation of alternative solutions, the technology assessment tasks, feasibility studies, solutions of ecological and or ergonomical problems. Some systems concepts of design automation are formulated.
