Summary:The response of seventeen female students to an increase in environmental pollution is reported. Although both lead and cadmium levels would have been expected to increase, only the former did (by an amount correlating with previous exposures). Cadmium levels actually decreased. Suggestions on the origins of these observations are outlined. Data on copper, zinc and magnesium levels are also reported.
