Summary: | The features of the modified asynchronous cascade machine (ACM) system has been studied by simulating the model of the system in the field-oriented reference frame. The proposed system can operate in a wider speed range and with suitable control it would be possible to reduce the reactive power demand from die supply. In addition the secondary stator current can be used to control the power factor at the power supply terminals connected to the primary stator. The dynamic and steady state behaviour of the system has been studied and the results are presented. |
