Summary: | We apply an appropriate time-domain wave-splitting method to solve the problem of propagation of a TEM wave through a one-dimensional stratified dielectric medium. For a slowly varying medium, a convolution operator is obtained which maps the incident wave arriving from z=-∞ to the reflected wave measured at the origin. It is shown that the corresponding impulse response makes it possible to reconstruct the permittivity profile. (3 pages) |
