Summary: | A new numerical algorithm for blocking automatic reclosing on power distribution lines with permanent symmetrical or unsymmetrical faults is presented. It can be utilized in the field of distance protection and fault location. Through numerous computer simulations it is concluded that the algorithm is not sensitive on the higher order harmonics and decaying DC component presented in the input signals (line terminal voltages and currents). A very interesting example of laboratory testing is also presented, confirming the excellent results obtained in computer simulations. (5 pages) |
