Ten channel background alpha radiometer for nondestructive analysis of low activity samples
A ten-channel alpha-radiometer based on large-area semiconductor detectors is presented. The radiometer is intended for determination of soil pollution by alpha-active radionuclides using thick samples. The analysis of isotopes is also provided. Summary: | A ten-channel alpha-radiometer based on large-area semiconductor detectors is presented. The radiometer is intended for determination of soil pollution by alpha-active radionuclides using thick samples. The analysis of isotopes is also provided. These radiometers have been used in testing soil samples contaminated in the Chernobyl accident. Results obtained were in good agreement with data for thin samples prepared with radiochemical methods. The concentrations of Pu and Am isotopes in soil samples were determined.< > |
