Description
Summary:Several methods for sizing biofilter systems are investigated. These include the modification of certain existing equations for use with biofilter systems, the application of complete mix activated sludge equations to separately model each process step in the biofilter system, and a simpler graphical approach to the problem. Extensive field data are presented from selected biofilter wastewater treatment plants, and from these data, a practical approach to the biofilter treatment system design has been developed.
