GABBROIC ANORTHOSITES FROM KOTAGIRI, NILGIRI HILLS, TAMIL NADU

Field, petrographic and geochemical characters of new occurrence of gabbroic anorthosites around Kotagiri indicate that they are of Archaean age and define ancient lineament. The rocks have suffered granulite facies metamorphism (820°C/7kb) at 2.6 Ga.
