Summary: | The purpose of this study was to assess the perception of body image (CI) in women with common mental disorders (CMD) in a low-income population in the city of Maceió, AL. It is a cross-sectional study sample of 37 women with average age of 26.3 years (± 5.06). Variables were evaluated: mental health, body image, weight and height. We found an average BMI of 26.26 (± 5.09), 59.4% of the sample are overweight and 89.2% dissatisfied with the IC. There was 86.7% of overweight women and 91.7% of eutrophic dissatisfaction with CI, no significant differences (p > .05). It indicates that women are more likely to TMC's dissatisfaction IC. However, these results follow the evidence found with the female audience in general. Further studies are recommended, highlighting the need for intervention in the group. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
