Summary: | It is essential to identify and develop social entrepreneurs in order to solve some of the complex problems facing various communities. In this article, the authors draw on the works of Paulo Friere, as well as The Center for Leadership Development's Assess, Challenge, Support (ACS) model and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), to serve as a blueprint for Social Entrepreneur Development (SED). The authors assessed the social entrepreneurial intentions scores of African-American and Hispanic college students and found that they possess low intentions to become social entrepreneurs. The Theory of Planned Behavior, the ACS model, and critical pedagogy serve as a guide to develop tomorrow's agents of change and to increase their intentions to become social entrepreneurs.
