Description
Summary:Current e-Learning is based on learning management systems that provide certain standard services - course authoring and delivery, tutoring, administration and collaboration facilities. Rapid development of mobile technologies opens a new area of m-Learning to enhance the current educational opportunities. Field trips are a relevant part of the curriculum, but for various reasons it is often difficult to organize them. The aim of the RAFT project is development of a system that would enable virtual field trips. One mobile learning application prototype created in this project, called Mobile Collector, enables data gathering and annotation in the field, together with real time collaboration. The application supports learner-centred education in real world context.
