Description
Summary:The dependence of the ecosystem response on the functioning regime can be associated with the potential capability of the ecosystem to mobilize the necessary level of power for preservation of the existing balance of energy and matter at the moment of the effect. If the level of power is lower than is necessary, structural reorganization takes place. Thus, it can be stated that the stability of ecosystems to external effects, including toxic ones depends on the regime of functioning (state) of the ecosystem at the moment of the effect, which, in turn, is determined quantitatively by the value of the specific metabolic power of the ecosystem. Thus, this parameter can be one of the indicators of the ecosystem stability to negative effects, including anthropogenic ones.
