Summary: | Results of determination of ABO blood groups in the Arabs of Basrah and the students of the University of Basrah are presented. Comparison between the Basrah series and other samples from the central, north and north-east regions of Iraq indicates the existence of geographical variations in ABO blood groups, while the elevated frequency of blood group B in the Basrah hospital series suggests an oriental influence in the Basrah genepool. |
