Summary:A total of 626 Bayley scores at about 8 months significantly correlated (r = .11-.21) with WISC full, verbal, and performance, and Bender scores at 7 years. For Negro boys, no 8-month measure correlated significantly with any 7-year measure. Mental and fine motor scores of girls correlated significantly with full, verbal, performance, and Bender scores, but gross motor did not. Except for gross motor, female scores contributed most to total group relationships. Generally, mental and fine motor measurements had significant but low predictive value for girls of both races and white boys but nonsignificant value for Negro boys.
