THIS ARTICLE EXAMINES THE CONSUMER ECONOMY AND THE CHALLENGES OF INCOME DISPARITY. IT THEN EXPLORES CAPITALISM AND INCOME DISTRIBUTION, AND THE ADVENT OF SOCIAL ANARCHY. IT ARGUES THAT TO THE DEGREE THERE IS A WAY OUT OF THIS SEEMINGLY INEVITABLE DILEMMA, IT MUST REST WITH A SUBORDINATION OF THE SHORT-TERM PROFIT OBJECTIVES OF THE BUSINESS CLASS TO THE LONG-TERM CONCERNS FOR A STABLE AND EQUITABLE SOCIETY FOR THE WHOLE.
