Description
Summary:These articles were given as papers at one of the best attended panels of the 1962 ASPA National Conference which considered an eleven-year-old adolescent, electronic data processing. In what activities is this youth engaged? How rapidly is he maturing? What will he be like when he reaches maturity? How can we guide his growth to maturity? Answers to questions like these, whether in relation to human beings or to an instrument of organization and management, are, at best, educated guesses. The crystal gazing, hard-headed evaluation, and simple descriptions of experience included in this symposium should help us reach those educated guesses. What will we say in ten years? What will be the result of our actions based on these educated guesses: a juvenile delinquent or a useful citizen?
