Its distinction is the limitation to groups of normal married couples and families in informal settings using experiential methods. Goals, standards, and guidelines for programs and certfication of leaders delineated from a review of programs across the United States supported this conclusion. A major recommendation is for a differentiating theoretical base to be established.
