Description
Summary:Satie's Parade embodies to a considerable degree the aims, outlook, and technical devices that have shaped avant-garde thinking in this century, especially the notion of concept art. Fundamental characteristics that define dadaism are brought into relation with the parodistic and provocative stance of «Parade». Analyses of the technical elements of dadaism, i.e., reductionism, displacement, and dissociation, all of which are also found in «Parade», substantiate the claim that this is a dadaist work.
