Summary: | ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) is a national information system supported by the Office of Education to permit fast, low cost access to research and development reports pertinent to education. ERIC's announcement bulletin,
Research in Education, contains abstracts and indexes for about 700 reports per monthly issue, and is available for $11.00 per year from the Government Printing Office. The text of reports cited in
Research in Education are available in microfiche or directly readable copy from the ERIC Document Reproduction Service, operated by National Cash Register Company. Several special collections of documents also are available through ERIC. In addition, each of the 18 clearinghouses that comprise the basis of the ERIC system, such as the ERIC Clearinghouse on Guidance at University of Michigan, produce and disseminate newsletters, bibliographies, and reviews of research. School psychologists can acquire and use ERIC materials by themselves and they can arrange for libraries to acquire the ERIC products. Either way. ERIC products can help educators locate the information they need. |
