Description
Summary:Knowledge is defined as "justified true belief", but both justification and truth are paid very little attention by the Knowledge Management field. The paper reviews the justification methods that organizations employ de-facto - positivism, conventionalism and pragmatism, and discusses their weaknesses. The method of critical rationalism (CR) is then presented as a remedy for these weaknesses, despite the opposition the method faces from organizational experts. A new knowledge framework that realigns the canonical theories of organizational knowledge is constructed; the main argument in this paper is that the framework does enable CR. The implementation of CR is then demonstrated by a case study. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
