Description
Summary:The aim of the present study is to focus on Corporate Social Responsibility of public and private sector enterprises in India. Corporate Social Responsibility is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. The present investigation was done at two levels i.e. primary and secondary level. At the primary level a structured questionnaire specially designed for the study, was administered on randomly selected 20 private and public sector organizations in India. At the secondary level the study depended on literature available on this field in the form of books, journals, published articles and websites. The results revealed that the public sector enterprises were better in responding than that of private sector enterprises excluding Tata and Reliance. The challenges of CSR were discussed and also necessary suggestions are given. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
