Summary:Growth in the number of renewable energy sources is being matched by an increase in the consumption of electrical energy by UK users. The power industry needs highly trained engineers to deliver the support for this. However, access to large-scale equipment for practical training is limited. The authors have developed an online tool, in the form of a mobile application, which could be used by universities or power companies to train students, graduates or new staff and help to inform and inspire them about opportunities in power engineering.
