Description
Summary:Neutron scattering study on a pseudo-binary alloy system Fe65(Ni1-xMnx)35 has been made to clarify the microscopic magnetic state in a system of competing magnetic interactions. Magnetic diffuse scattering patterns arising from short-range ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic correlations have been observed in wide concentration and temperature ranges. The result shows that the magnetic phase diagram determined by macroscopic measurements does not properly represent the magnetic state of the competing magnetic interaction system.
