Description
Summary:Dynamics during the breakdown of the quantum Hall effect is studied theoretically in the Corbino geometry at a filling factor of 2. Spatio-temporal variations of the density of electrons in the first excited Landau level are calculated as well as those of the electron temperature. It is shown that the time constant of the population in this Landau level becomes quite long when the electron temperature is low compared to the Landau-level width.
