The authors made a survey of triatomine bugs wtth the help of insecticide pouxter in dwellings in almost ali of the munictpalities of two out of three regions into which the State of Santa Catarina is divided. Domestic triatomine bugs were found in four munidpaltties situated in the extreme west of the State. In another survey made four years later, only in one locality was the presence of the insects detected. The only species found was Triatoma infestans and the majority of insects were captured in hen sheds. The localities from where the authors have received adult spedmens of Panstrongylus megistus captured in dwellings by the owners, are also enumerated.
