Summary: | An abstract of a study examining the effect of public health interventions during a rubella outbreak in a Chinese Middle School is presented. Outbreak detection through surveillance, enhanced case finding, and vaccination as implemented prevented an over two-fold increase in the final size of the outbreak. A more rapid vaccination campaign could have been effective in further reducing infection rates. |
