Summary:A new hybrid zirconium fluoride, (H2dap)2[Zr2F12] (dap = C3H10N2), was prepared by a solvothermal method at 190°C under microwave heating. (H2dap)2[Zr2F12] crystallizes in the monoclinic system, P21/n, a = 10.927(3)Å, b = 7.033(3)Å, c = 11.578(5)Å, β = 99.10(3)°. A structure determination, performed from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, led to the reliability factor R/Rw = 0.015/0.042. The structure is built up from ZrF7 polyhedra connected by edges to form Zr2F12 dimers and from diprotonated organic cations.
