Description
Summary:The objective of this work was to determine the effects of the irrigation with saline water over the chemical characteristics of a Neossol and a Latossol cultivated with 30 bean plants genotypes in boxes of polyethylene in a greenhouse environment. It was used a completely randomized design with factorial arrangement (5×2), five levels of irrigation salinity water (0,1; 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 and 10,0 dS m-1), two soils and three replicates. After removing the plants, soils were collected from each box and samples were sent to the laboratory for the determination of pH, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, aluminum, H+Al, sum of bases, total and effective CTC, saturation by bases and aluminum, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium exchangeable percentages, calcium/magnesium relation as well as the ratio of sodium adsorption and the electric conductivity of the paste extract of the saturated soil. The application of saline water, as well as the enhanced of irrigation salinity water in the two soils increased the availability of calcium and exchangeable sodium, and the values of the sum of bases, total and effective CTC, saturation by bases, percentages of calcium and exchangeable sodium, soil salinity, ratio of sodium adsorption, calcium/magnesium relation and exchangeable sodium percentage with the ratio of sodium adsorption. On the other hand, the potassium percentages and exchangeable magnesium decreased while the potassium availability and exchangeable magnesium, the aluminum values, H+Al and the saturation by aluminum were not affected.
