Summary: | Reviews the book, Our Children, A Handbook for Parents edited by Dorothy Canfield Fisher and Sidonie M. Gruenberg (see record 1933-00731-000). The book makes easy reading in spite of its length and the technical nature of some of the articles. A comprehensive bibliography and a detailed index contribute much to its value as a reference, both for lay people and professional people. There is always danger of the misuse of the information and suggestions presented in such a book, by parents whose emotional bias can find confirmation in it of their own unhealthy attitudes. On the other hand, the book should make for greater faith in technical and professional expertness, and reassure the average parent’s common sense understanding of the child.
