Summary: | Phase Analysis of Gated Myocardial Perfusion Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography Compared With Tissue Doppler Imaging for the Assessment of Left Ventricular Dyssynchrony Maureen M. Henneman, Ji Chen, Claudia Ypenburg, Petra Dibbets, Gabe B. Bleeker, Eric Boersma, Marcel P. Stokkel, Ernst E. van der Wall, Ernest V. Garcia, Jeroen J. Bax It has been suggested that left ventricular (LV) dyssynchrony is an important predictor of response to cardiac resynchronization therapy. Left ventricular dyssynchrony is predominantly assessed with tissue Doppler imaging (TDI); however, information on LV dyssynchrony can also be provided by gated myocardial perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography (GMPS) with phase analysis. In 75 patients with heart failure, TDI and GMPS were performed as part of clinical screening for eligibility for cardiac resynchronization therapy and compared for assessment of LV dyssynchrony. Results demonstrate that histogram bandwidth and phase SD with phase analysis correlated best with LV dyssynchrony on TDI, suggesting that these parameters might be preferred for assessment of LV dyssynchrony with GMPS. |
