Summary: | Scientific research is an investigation, a study, to detect and highlight the new knowledges and to verify those through predetermined research methods. Experiment as a research method derived from the natural sciences, the field was first introduced subsequently become one of the most important research methods. The experiment is the most often used research method in physical therapy, but in an adapted form, having a clinical nature, because, just as in medicine, the subjects cannot be selected using experimental standards (there is no equivalent control groups or no intragroup homogeneity of subjects) and comparisons are made considering groups as similar. Classic experimental study used in clinical research in physical therapy is randomized experiment, it includes two or more groups whose subjects were selected by simple randomization and experimental intervention is applied to one of the groups so that, at the end of the experiment, the results obtained by groups to be compared. |
