IMPACT OF HIGH-FAT, LOW-CARBOHYDRATE DIET ON INSULIN SENSITIVITY AND TCA CYCLE SUBSTRATE ENTRY DURING ISCHEMIA-REPERFUSION
Isolated hearts were subjected to 30 min low flow ischemia (0.3 ml/min) followed by 60 min reperfusion, using a physiologic substrate mixture and carbon-13 labeled substrates, and TCA cycle entry determined by C-13 NMR spectroscopy.
