Summary:Background Heart Failure Society of America and American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines support use of ultrafiltration therapy (UF) for acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) with volume overload. There were five bleeding episodes; due to recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding (3), retroperitoneal hematoma (1) and alveolar hemorrhage (1); 2 were on warfarin.
