Summary:History is an essential resource in Journalism because it is impossible to understand the present without knowing the past. In fact, the two disciplines maintain an obvious symbiosis, as the media are also a constant source for history. However, scientific literature doesn't acknowledge the specialization in Historical Journalism. Based on the theoretical framework of Specialized Journalism, the authors have described the theory and research techniques about the dissemination and investigation of History in Spanish press. It can be argued that there exists a series of patterns, and even typologies. Therefore, the authors theorize the existence of a new specialization in Journalism: Historical Journalism.
