An Immunoassay to Measure IgE to Galactose alpha 1,3 Galactose Associated with Red Meat Allergies

IgE antibodies specific for Alpha-Gal can be detected and accurately quantified by this immunoassay. Since the assay has been released approximately two thirds of the samples submitted for clinical testing have been positive for Alpha-Gal specific IgE.
