Description
Summary:In recent years, legislation requiring increased public reporting and validation of hospital associated infection (HAI) data has produced increased emphasis on data accuracy. Efforts to maintain high quality data at a large multi-facility healthcare system include an electronic surveillance system that filters infection candidates for Infection Preventionists' (IPs) review and final HAI determination. Validation efforts include server side validation, internal validation of collected data, and studies of inter-rater reliability.
