Description
Summary:Clostridium difficile (C. diff) is a spore-forming bacterium that can cause severe diarrhea. Proper cleaning is essential to eliminating spores. In July 2011, there was a dramatic increase in the Number of hospital acquired C. diff infections. It coincided with the implementation of Knowledge-Based Charting program with computers placed in patient rooms. A lack of a computer cleaning and Environmental Service (EVS) staff education was thought to contribute to the increase.
