Phenotypic differences between IgG4+and IgG1+B cells point to distinct regulation of the IgG4response
Furthermore, there was a higher expression of the Fc[straight epsilon] receptor (CD23) on IgG4+ cells (Fig 2, B). Because many allergens are good inducers of IgG4 as well as IgE and CD23 can be upregulated by IL-4,8 it is interesting that IgG4+ B cells appear to have increased capacity to capture Ig...

Summary: | Furthermore, there was a higher expression of the Fc[straight epsilon] receptor (CD23) on IgG4+ cells (Fig 2, B). Because many allergens are good inducers of IgG4 as well as IgE and CD23 can be upregulated by IL-4,8 it is interesting that IgG4+ B cells appear to have increased capacity to capture IgE molecules. Signaling via IgE might trigger IgG4+ cells and contribute to dampening of allergic IgE responses. Besides IgE antibodies, CD23 binds to CD21 and several integrins.8 Taken together, IgG4+ B cells may stand out in the way they receive signals via the B-cell receptor complex.\n5) containing 0.003% (v/v) H2O2. |
