Description
Summary:Extrac- tion of aerial parts was done by perculator apparatus and using methanol 80%.Different alkaloids solvents such as pe- troleum and chloroform were added based on standard methods. The antimicrobial effect of methanolic extract and alkaloid extracts were evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus (PTCC 1431), Escherichia coli (PTCC 1399), Pseudomonas aeru- ginosa (PTCC 1430), Klebsiella pneumonia (PTCC 1053), Salmo- nella typhimurium (PTCC 1639), Candida albicans (PTCC 5027) based on CLSI 2012 protocol by disk diffusion meth- od.Further microdilution was done to determine Minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC).
