Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to adapt the Students' Perceptions of the Classroom Assessment Environment Scale (SPCAES) which was developed by Alkharusi (2011) into Turkish. The participants consist of 305 seventh and eighth grade elementary school students. At the first stage of the study, the linguistic validity of the translated scale was explored. Upon satisfaction of the linguistic validity requirements, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were performed in order to examine the construct validity of SPCAES. The reliability of the SPCAES is investigated by calculating the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficients. Corrected item-total correlations and t-tests between the upper 27% and the lower 27% groups, in terms of item means, were used to check the item discrimination index. The findings of this study indicate that the Turkish PCAES is a valid and reliable research instrument for Turkish students.
