Description
Summary:The 3 y that preceded the publication were focused on one goal: developing a botanical supplement that preferentially lowers specific inflammatory mediators that are overexpressed in some healthy individuals due to the function of specific single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IL-1 genes. In clinical samples on large numbers of subjects, the same genotypes responsible for IL-1β overexpression were also associated with higher tissue levels of IL-1β, higher C-reactive protein, and increased risk for cardiovascular.
