Summary: | The ciliary muscle plays a major role in the regulation of outflow facility, and it is well known that ciliary muscle contraction occurring secondary to various stimuli leads to an increase in outflow facility.2-5 Kee and associates previously reported that pilocarpine causes an increase in outflow facility and that this response is increased after cataract extraction.6 Dr Mehdizadeh also suggested that increased ciliary ring diameter acts like a preload to the heart muscle and enhances the contractility of the ciliary muscle. |
